Ice Ice Baby
My best friends
See how sweet she is! Just adorable. I as sitting in the goat house with her.... she is still very shy of the others...they are working out the pecking order...and she's last on the totem pole....even baby Annie thinks she's tough now...
Well, last night George made his awesome spaghetti...best in the world!!! I am making a roast in the pressure cooker tonight...it is called Texas BBQ Roast...We'll see how that turns out....but below you will see that Tess was enjoying a plate of spaghetti too....she sure does love people food.

This day
Today is the Board meeting...I'm a bit anxious to learn what decisions will be made. I'm not really worried, but I do work rather closely with the college Pres, so I have some changes coming no matter what.
Today is also the goat sale. I think we'll be loosing Carol and Andy tonight...and knowing George we'll get some to replace them...he's going to look at a Nubian nanny that is expecting....I really want us to have babies some time...those baby goats are so cute...and maybe a set born to us will let me play with them....
My class is going ok...I guess I have high expectations and expect my students to do what I would do...so lack of attendance by some bothers me. I guess I'll have to award some serious attendance/participation points for this class.

Catching UP
Last weekend was a big week in many lives. My newest niece, Fatena, had her baptism on Sunday. Doesn't she look like a little doll in this photo that her Mommy, Helen, sent us. All reports say that the baptism was a beautiful event and that Fatena loves water, so she didn't mind the water being poured on her head at all.
Here's another photo that her Mommy shared.... now, just what is that kid up to? She sure does have a mischevious grin....do you think she was rooting for the other team...heard Daddy's teams lost....hum?
On Saturday, I was at Belinda's baby shower.... I still haven't emailed James for some photos but I do have a couple.... Brandy and I decorated in a sports theme...check out our cool tables.
I had enough battery, after my camera rested, to get a shot of Olivia playing with the balloons after we cleaned up from the party. She had so much fun bouncing those balloons around.
This week was also the beginning of my teaching experience. It worried me to death last weekend and during the week because I really want to do a good job at this, but have no experience with it...but, I'm learning. I've come a long way with my plans this week....I discovered that if I choose lessons and activities that I am comfortable with, ones that suit my personality and style, then I am much less worried about the class....I'm still worried about the assessment form but I'm happy with my assignments....I'll get the assessment thing figured out....maybe even tomorrow....depends on the day.
I'm leaning toward a day of scrapping at the moment....that is one of my new year resolutions...to make time for scrapping.....for some reason, even though I love to do it, I always put it in last place on my things I can/should do list....
Russell was sick this week..some kind of stomach virus...first day of school that he has missed for illness since he moved in with us...and now George has it....he woke up feeling bad this morning....we drove to Jonesboro to pick up the mattress and spring set that was ordered for Henry (my father-in-law) for his birthday present.....
Now, that was my week in a nutshell....
This week brings new things as well.... The Board of Trustees will meet to name an interim president for us an a search committee for the new President....
Foreward Ho!

Nothing to say
The baby shower went pretty good. In my craziness, I neglected to check the batteries in my camera, so I'm going to have to get some photos from Belinda...I took a ton with her camera...but didn't get one of her with mine before the battery died. I did get a cute photo of Olivia playing with some balloons but to be honest, I'm too lazy tonight to go get the camera to download it. I'll do it soon though.
I received a photo of my new niece (Fatena) today. She had her baptism on Sunday. Since I'm not Catholic, I don't really understand about this, but I do respect the process of the religion.
I'm hoping that the coldness that has been forecasted for us is a myth and it will be a balmy 35 or so this week....I think I'm being the ostrich in with her head in the sand on this.
My Tess is making typing tough....she is insisting on being petted.......bye!

Overwhelmed
I feel almost the same way at home. I have to prepare to teach a class that starts on Tuesday....however, I've never taught a class and I'm excited but a bit daunted as well. My section probalby won't make, but if it doesn't then Holly and I are going to team teach her section....so I still have to teach but if we do her section together, then we will most likely do what she had planned...which is great for me (I think).
I've decided it's time for me to shape up and get fit...the diet is going ok so far...no one has lost an arm yet....and my dear husband, the wonderful man that he is, has moved my treadmill from the shop into our study...talk about crowded...but hey...who needs nice neat organized space anyway ....oh wait...that's me isn't it ;-) I walked for a little while tonight...it's a start.
As you can see, tonight is a night for rambling....

The first day of the rest of my life
Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life.... There are some things that I will change this year....
- I will lose weight and get in better shape
- I will be a more positive person
- I will accept the changes that are coming my way and look at them as positive (there are some important things changing for me at work)
- I will take better care of myself with health related issues (no more letting things go...I'm 40 you know...time to step up)
- I will shop less and spend less
- I will conquer my problems with Goldie and enjoy riding my horse
- I will scrapbook more and use the products that I have
I did not choose January 1 to begin my quest for change, but January 5th...the first day back to work, the first day of normalcy for me....
Today I ironed everything in my closet that I can wear to work (it took all morning) and I'm going out for Mexican food for dinner....I start tomorrow with a Dr. appointment....and scheduling an eye appointment as well. Another new venture for me is teaching a Student Success Class at work. If my class makes, I will have students for 8 weeks....I am looking forward to testing myself with this new venture. I once dreamed that I would teach at a college, but have long since decided that was not my calling....however, I am going to get a little taste of it now. Intersting, I think.

What did you do today?
Andy the goat had to get weighed today....he's about 61 pounds now.
I'm a little tired (running the tiller wears me out).... but I feel good.
I made a trip to Little Rock yesterday...my laptop needed to visit the GeekSquad...turns out it was no big deal (which is good from my checkbook). I did some shopping for Belinda's baby shower and got the new Julie Garwood book! I started reading it last night....but was so tired from the day that I didn't get far. I'll read more tonight!
