It's a Monday

Hello my blogging friends.... today was simply a Monday.
Not great, however, not awful.... I had work and a Project Graduation meeting at the school....it is raining and looking dreary but it's not freezing.

I keep thinking that I will come up with something to post that will just make my blog followers feel inspired today...but I think I'm fresh out of inspiring ideas....however, I will pass on something.....

Nothing Gold Can Stay by Robert Frost

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
so dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Views, Guitars and Shoes

OK, I'm planning to be much better about my blog. I have been absent a lot lately....of course we had several days of no power and all that. But I will be better.

We went to Nashville this weekend to see the school that Russell wants to go to after graduation. When we got home, I was looking at my camera to see what photos were on the card and I found this one.... I saw the sun setting one evening during the ice storm and took a photo....it turned out ok...I think it looks pretty cool. I love those pink surises and sunsets.

While we were walking around the 400 block of Broadway in Nashville, I heard a "walking tour" guide say that this was the prettiest Guitar in Nashville, so I snapped this photo while we were walking across the street. I cropped all the people out of the photo once but decided I like it better like this....

If you know my husband, you know that he was under an extreme amount of torture this weekend as he HATES COUNTRY MUSIC.... while, I on the other hand quite enjoy it.....and we were in the Country Music Capital of the World.... I didn't torture him much...but I did want to go see some of the famous honkytonks...we did this early in the afternoon so I could see the scene and beat the big crowds....I really wasn't interested in hanging out in one, just seeing them.

The Opry Mills mall is huge....I spent several hours walking around in there but didn't buy anything...but...I did fall in love with a pair of Cole Hahn shoes.... probably going to regret not buying them...but dang, even on sale they cost more than I would normally pay...so I restrained myself....but man were they cute!

On another note, Tess, my wonderful beautiful black lab turned 4 on Saturday...she spent the weekend with my mom, dad, and brother while we were traveling....she celebrated with about a pound and a half of hotdogs. We can always count on Dad to feed her hotdogs...and Mom always makes sure there are some in the fridge when she is coming to visit.....did I mention that my dog is spoiled!

More birthday celebrations to follow this week...stay tuned....

Peace be with you!

My frozen world

A beautiful view on a frozen morning.....
After the ice accumulated the weight was more than our tress could stand..limbs, trees, power poles, etc snapped or were uprooted...leave a path of destruction and lots of "lumberjack work" for us all.

The pile of limbs under this set of trees grew before the ice began to melt. I really should have after photos to post now...no matter how bad you think these trees look, they look worse now...all thru the woods you can see the "fresh wounds" on the trees.

This photo does show some broken trees, but the view is so pretty...

This section of fence is at our driveway and I take a photo of it during every ice storm...just love this fence section.

I think I'm done talking about the ice. I'm so ready for my friends to get their power back on...it's been a week for some!

I've got the power

Well, I never knew how much I loved electricity!!! I'm rejoicing today becasue our power was restored this morning.....I'm so happy! I have storm photos to post...but I'm not ready to do that today...I posted some ice photos before it began to be a destructive force....I thought this storm was beautiful at first, but now that it's gone, the mess that was left in its wake leaves me almost speechless...almost ;-)

I'm just so glad to be able to communicate with people again and to post my boring blog and my tweets on twitter.....

More POWER to you all!

Ice Ice Baby

Well,I had to post again today because I couldn't not say something about this ice. It stops us, it keeps us inside, but isn't it beautiful....so amazing.

Now, I know this isn't the photo of the year...but click on it and enlarge it....now, isn't that beautiful....It's amazing how something as simple as a little water and cold temperatures can make the world look so differently.

Hope Goldie decides to use the barn a little more...she's all wet!

My best friends

Introducing Ninny, the nanny goat. Ninny is my new friend. She came to live with us on Sunday. You guys, she is the sweetest thing...she is tame, likes to be petted and will follow you around...

See how sweet she is! Just adorable. I as sitting in the goat house with her.... she is still very shy of the others...they are working out the pecking order...and she's last on the totem pole....even baby Annie thinks she's tough now...

Well, last night George made his awesome spaghetti...best in the world!!! I am making a roast in the pressure cooker tonight...it is called Texas BBQ Roast...We'll see how that turns out....but below you will see that Tess was enjoying a plate of spaghetti too....she sure does love people food.

I've got my eye on you....

I've got my eye on you....I hear that all the time....that's what George tells Tess to keep her out of trouble. She just looks at him like any "teenager"...what Dad....I wouldn't do anything bad...really I wouldn't....

Don't forget....I've got my eye on you.
