Friday Review

Well, Friday started off very foggy and we had a really heavy dew on the ground....so I had to wait until the afternoon to work on the yard. But, I got the yard mowed and the tick granuals spread....and we had company for dinner....Lonnie and Royce came out to pick up some goats so we had them stay for dinner....it was nice...good food - T-Bones, roasted potaoes, grilled cabbage, bread and black forest brownies....good company and good conversation! George is getting out of the goat business....we still have about a dozen out there but he's planning to sell out.....Wink is for sale as well....I have decided that I just love Goldie more and George wants to pick a horse or mule for himself...so Wink needs to find a new home....

This morning, I'm waiting for the gang to get ready to go to the lake.

Hello out there

Well Hello everyone...it's been a while since my last update....I am very random sometimes and I've been playing on a new (to me) site....I get hooked on something new for a while and don't have time for everything....my new place is www.scrapinstyletv.com ...It's a site for scrapbookers....you sign up and become a sister and then you can view other layouts, talk to other scrappers, take challenges, etc...just tons of things....It's nice to get feedback on your layouts too.

I did some serious scrapbooking over the weekend. George let me have the whole day to Scrap on Sunday....it was very nice to create for a while.

Monday was supposed to be a lake day but the weather was bad and iffy all day.....so I cleaned out my closet and dresser, and went through the pantry....I'm going to use all of those strange ingredients that I thought I had to have....HOW? Not sure yet but I'm sure I'll think of something (poor George).

I worked Tuesday and then went to Gaston's Resort for a Retreat meeting ....just got back this afternoon...and since I'm working 4-ten hour days, I'm off until Monday (which is a trip to Little Rock for a meeting)....

So...what to do tomorrow? I started a list we'll see how far I get....I'm hoping to do the things that are outside.....and then Saturday maybe we can go to the lake!

I'm going to be better about posting here...so check back...don't give up on me.

A slacker I am

According to my husband, I am a slacker. Apparently I am a slacker because I have not updated my blog and I so obviously have not had anything else to do..... (did you know my husband now sleeps in the goat pen with his goats :-))....

Here's what's been going on....
GRADUATION....Russell graduated on Friday night. YEAH!

Family in town......Our families came to visit...we got to show off the horses and goats.....Goldie and Wink were loving the attention.

Project Graduation....We worked a lot to get everything ready for project grad.....these boys are trying to unthaw a frozen t-shirt so they can untie the knots and get it on.....please....don't ask what all they did with that shirt before trying this....boys will be boys....

So that's what's been going on in my life...I'm really hoping to get everything back on schedule now.....

Shoot!

Saturday we went to Loneoak to do a makeup shoot for our regional tournament. Our first team got to shoot but the second one got rained out. They are all milling around trying to get ready...and praying for the rain to hold off.

Here's Russell's team. They did pretty good...we have to wait for all of our district to finish their make up rounds to see whether we get to go to state to shoot.....

And..here's Russell taking a shot...

Cake

Well, it's been a while since I made and decorated a cake....it seems like I just havne't had much time for that stuff but....I made one for Mom's birthday celebration. I had fun with it....It could have been smoother but it was still pretty (I think)...and even better than that...it tasted good.

A horse is a horse of course of course

It's been a while since Goldie and Wink made the blog.

They are really enjoying all of the grass that the rain has brought on. For a while, they were doing a pretty good job of mowing the yard but they are way behind now.... We've given them free reign of the whole property (except for the goat pens) and they are enjoying that freedom. They still come to the house when you call them in (which is so great).....It looks like we're building a litte more fence this weekend so we can keep them out of the yard and the garden.

Speaking of the garden....I've planted mine and I'm hoping that huge rain we had today didn't drown everything. Some of my tomato plants looked a little worse for wear but they were still standing....so they've still got a chance. I need to get some tomato cages ready...I'm going with the "I have faith" attitude. I'm going to have a great garden this year.

Running on empty

I think I'm tired...I think I'm wore plum out....and I think I still have a lot to do. Project Graduation has been a huge focus at our house...my wonderful husband built me a couple of walls to decorate...and then I painted (I'm not an artist) a backdrop to look like Santa Fe..... uhhhhhhhh....well, it'll do...I need art lessons....haha....

It's always hectic at graduation time...getting the house ready, all the extra activities, getting the food on...but its fun and well worth all the effort. I think I've got something to do every evening next week...

Looks like we're going to have a busy time.
